New Video for The Matador and the Fuzz, 2013…We kicked your ASS! More shows in Jan 2014! Get the new album Spindrift - Ghost of the West

Did you get the new album / soundtrack to SPINDRIFT - Ghost of the West??? Here’s a track from it! The video above premiered on Buddyhead. Click through, or play the embedded version above.

This video was directed, photographed and edited by Corey Brandenstein. Plans to tour the West Coast and perform and screen “SPINDRIFT - GHOST OF THE WEST” (our homage to the past, present, and future of the American West) at some prominent Film Festivals in Jan. 2014 are in the works as well as several other big gigs in January.

2013 was quite a year, once again the band had the opportunity to play over 100 gigs throughout the year! With 3 major tours (2 in the USA, 1 in Europe), the release of a new Album/Soundtrack LP (via Tee Pee Records) Spindrift - Ghost of the West, the opportunity to perform in front of a crowd of 7,500+ in support of the classic punk band X, Vincent Gallo(???), perform with Nik Turner of Hawkwind(!!!), and finally this special REUNION gig. Well, HELLO 2014…Get ready, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Here’s a bit about the reunion show that happened at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadelphia on 12/28/13:

“Before they were from Los Angeles, CA and did Psychedelic Spaghetti Western scores for the likes of Tarantino and East Bound & Down, SPINDRIFT were originally from Newark, DE (since 1994 or so?) in various forms consisting of lead vocalist/guitarist Kirpatrick Thomas, guitarists Chris Andrews and Blario Valente, bass players Pete VanKowenburg and Joe Baluta, key player Jay Caddle, and drummers Paul Budd and Z. Miles Hansen amongst others. Up until 2001, when Kirpatrick, Baluta, and Hansen decided to split for the West Coast to release “Songs from the Ancient Age” and begin their own Spaghetti Western homage “The Legend of God’s Gun”, the band had released various LP’s such as the space-rock influenced “We Come from the United States”, the punk influenced “10 Million Asians Can’t be Wrong”, and the earlier 1996 debut “Strange Range”. From early on, the band was an experimental force involved in the early psychedelic punk scene evolving in the 90’s in the Philadelphia and Delmarva area which sprung up bands such as Zen Guerilla and The Asteroid #4. Early (and difficult to find) 7″ albums such as “See Psychic Sea b/w Surround Sound(Neck Records)” and “Doses(Neck Records)” captured the young band at a very early psychedelic and experimental state. Early influences had a wide variety from The Doors, to Hawkwind, to Mahavishnu Orchestra and the bands sound as well as their live shows was always an ever evolving tour de force. ”
